Vanetti
Scores Win at Phoenix Divisional |
Team
Silver Bullet rider Anthony Vanetti came into the
NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Pacific Division
Opener at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park
looking to make a big impression and came away with his
first career Wally.
Sporting
his new look for 2018 in his debut race featuring SpillVak
as his newest sponsor, Vanetti qualified his Lucas Oil/SpillVak
Suzuki in the 5th position and was able to get past the
first two rounds with consistency, running within 0.060
and 0.029 seconds of his dial-in. He then used a stellar
0.19 light in the final to win his first NHRA Division
7 event.
“It’s
so awesome to get a Wally on something I own and ride,”
said an elated Vanetti. “I have 30 Wallys as a crewman
but this being my first as a rider will be memorable for
quite some time.” Vanetti was also quick to give
credit to his team. “I need to thank my awesome
crew-chief Rob Stockinger as well as Matt Bluett and Patty
Pifer for helping all weekend with the consistent dial-ins
and keeping me safe. And I couldn’t have done it
without Lucas Oil and SpillVak behind me 100%. Thank you
Tom Bogner, Trent Whatcott and Kyle Bybee for believing
in me. I hope this is just the first of many!”
