Chix Jr. Dragster Class Debuts at Byron Dragway's Ladies Only
Drag Race & Breast Cancer Fundraiser |

Chix, the motorsports organization for women, continues
to raise the bar for the rapidly growing Car Chix Ladies
Only Drag Race. To continue the evolution of women in motorsports
and to further enhance the future of the sport of drag racing,
Car Chix will debut the first ever Car Chix Junior
Dragster Class at the upcoming Car Chix
Ladies Only Drag Race and Breast Cancer Fundraiser
at Byron Dragway (Saturday, August 19, 2017).
Car Chix has been taking the drag racing scene by storm
since 2010 with events such as the Drag Racing for Life
Breast Cancer Fundraiser (formerly known as Racing for a
Cure a Quarter Mile at a Time) and the Car Chix Ladies Only
Drag Races. In addition to the notable Car Chix events,
the organization further promotes women in motorsports through
offering free advertising and promotional services, as well
as resources for women in motorsports and the automotive
industries.
Most recently, Car Chix earned a spot as a keynote speaker
during the highly reviewed ‘Women in Motorsports’
Seminar during the 2016 Performance Racing Industry Show.
Earlier in 2016, Car Chix received an award from Memphis
International Raceway for ‘Outstanding Leadership
in Women’s Motorsports’ and the ‘President’s
Award’ from Cordova International Raceway in 2015.
“The kids are the key to the future of this sport,”
says Car Chix President and Founder, Jeanette DesJardins,
“By offering additional opportunities for the younger
generation, we will be enabling and further encouraging
the next generation of gearheads and racers.”
The debut of the first Car Chix Junior Dragster Class will
take place during the Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race and
Drag Racing for Life Breast Cancer Fundraiser at Byron Dragway.
The Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race is a ¼ mile bracket
race consisting of 3 other classes including: Car Chix Pro
(11:49 & Quicker), Car Chix Street (11.50 & Slower)
and Car Chix Bikes (All Models). The Car Chix Junior Dragster
Class is an 1/8th mile bracket race for young ladies ranging
from the ages of 6 - 17.
In addition to cash prizes and trophies for the first and
second place racers in each class, Car Chix will be awarding
several recognitions; including: Best Burn Out, Fastest
MPH, Best Reaction Time, Hottest Ride and Best Dressed Back
Up Boy.
The Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race & Breast Cancer Fundraiser,
presented by Other World Computing, OWC Pro It Services,
Chicago Intermodal Trucking, D&M Corvette Specialists
and Redhorse Performance, is scheduled to take place at
Byron Dragway in Byron, Illinois, USA on Saturday, August
