Mowery
does all he can and runs a beautiful dead-1 pass, but
still comes up short against the 1-over pass of Eiskant. |
Man,
another dead-1 pass! This time from Charlie Bubka who
also had the 'Tree against Bob Cupp and takes the win. |
|
|
|
Sooo...
these two are the same pairing. Malinda Hurley in the
1955 SS/NA Chevy leaves first with a 12.05 dial and an
-.089 red light. John Agneta in the GT/LA Firebird follows
with a .138 light and then lifts to a 4-second-over pass.

|
|
John
Cannata over here is -.032 red, handing the win to Richard
Kay in the SS/BM Valiant. |
Wally
Clark over there leaves first and wins with an .091 light
against the -.003 redlight of Don Belles in the FSS/C
Cobra Jet. |
|
|
|
James
Antonette Jr. in the SS/CS Grand Am has a great .015 light
against the not-bad .037 of Richard Preiser in the SS/AS
Mustang.
Antonette runs 2-over for the win while Preiser breaks
out trying. |
Richard
DiOrio over here in the SS/OA '56 Chevy just destroys
the 'Tree with a killer .009 while Bucky Hess in the Southland
Flyer Hemi Plymouth goes -.033 red. |
|
Man,
Marty Rinehart in the ATI Performance Products-backed
1969 SS/CA Camaro really straps a package on Bryan Worner.
Rinehart's .019 / dead-2 would have been tough to beat
if Worner hadn't gone -.006 red.
|
|
|
|
|
Sterling
Simmons over here keeps it green aqainst a red-lighting
David Chiles over there. |
Man,
now THIS was a race! Jamie Schoenly over here in the GT/QA
Stocker Maverick (just kidding, but it sure looks like
a Stocker) leaves with an 11.40 dial and a nice .026 light,
but Jeff Roell in the FSS/G Mustang just nails it with
a great .019/ dead-0 pass for the win. |
|
|
|
Michael
Allen goes down in Round 1 here...
|
...as
does Carroll Morris in the sharp SS/IA Mustang. That's
why we like being there for the early rounds: even those
racers who don't have a great day still get some coverage
here at The Dragtime News. |
|
|
|
Well,
it might not have been pretty but it got the job done
for James Daniels over here in the GT/LA Camaro. He's
.094/under by 4 against the red-lighting Nick Chiles. |
Byron
Worner over there in the GT/HA Camaro puts together a
solid .038/1-over package to take the win over Doug Linke's
.040/3-under. |
