Gateway Motorsports Park's Fall Bracket Battle Coming Up October 5-7, 2018
September 5, 2018, St. Louis Region – Schedule for the Fall Bracket Battle weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois. The Fall Bracket Battle features the annual NHRA National Dragster Challenge, VP Racing Lubricants Mid-American Super Car Showdown, bracket racing, box and no-box bonus races and Jr. Dragster competition.

Friday, October 5 – Test ‘n’ Tune and Battle of the Brands race
9 a.m. -- Pit gates open; Tech inspection.
10 a.m.-7 p.m. -- Test ‘n’ Tune ($40 per car) for all racing classes.
1:30 p.m. -- Time Trial for Battle of the Brands bonus race.
3 p.m. -- Battle of the Brands bonus race. Open to all makes and models.
2 classes: Box ($1,500 to win); No Box ($1,000 to win).
7 p.m. -- Conclude Battle of the Brands and Test ‘n’ Tune.
VP Racing Lubricants Mid-American SuperCar Showdown, Heads-Up, Index Cars, Index Bikes.
Midnight – Track closed.

Saturday, October 6 – Fall Bracket Battle
7 a.m. -- Pit gates open.
7:30 a.m. -- Tech inspection.
8 a.m. – Spectator gates open; Jr. Dragster time trial.
8:40 a.m. – First round of Jr. Dragster eliminations.
9 a.m. – First time trail for Fall Bracket Battle.
1 p.m. – First round of Fall Bracket Battle eliminations.
8 p.m. – Track closed.

Sunday, October 7 -- NHRA - National Dragster Challenge – High School Alumni
7 a.m. -- Pit gates open.
7:30 a.m. – Racers for Christ chapel service; tech inspection.
8 a.m. – Jr. Dragster time trial, High School Alumni time trial.
8:40 a.m. – First round of Jr. Dragster eliminations.
9 a.m. -- Bracket time trial.
10:30 a.m. -- Run for the Money ($20 to enter, closest to dial wins).
Noon -- Bracket eliminations.
5 p.m. -- All finals and National Dragster Challenge awards.
Schedule subject to change.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON ‘BATTLE OF THE BRANDS’ BOX AND NO-BOX BRACKETS - 1/8 mile
Box, Super Pro, Electronic: $1,500 to win.
$60 entry fee, $40 buy-back. ENTRY - $40 BUYBACK
Win: $1,500; runner-up: $500; semi: $200; quartersr: $100.
Based on 48 cars in first round of eliminations. Purse will be pro-rata for less than 48 cars. First-round buy-backs only if time permits. One entry per car, per class (a car can enter both box and no-box if it meets class guidelines). Driver may enter multiple cars. One time trial. Random pairs to final eight, then ladder. One time run scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Eliminations follow time trial.

NO BOX, PRO, NON-ELECTRONIC: $1,000 to win.
$50 entry fee, $30 buy-back.
Win: $1,000; runner-up: $300; semi: $150; quarters: $75.
Based on 48 cars in first round of eliminations. Purse will be pro-rata for less than 48 cars. First-round buy-backs only if time permits. 2018 FALL BRACKET BATTLE DRAG CLASSES
Entry fee includes Saturday time trial and Saturday eliminations only. Separate purchase required for Friday Test ‘n’ Tune, Friday Bonus Race(s) and Sunday National Dragster Challenge

SUPER PRO -- 1/8-mile (Super Pro, Box, Electronics)
$125 entry fee, $60 buy-back
Win: $5,000; runner-up: $750; semi: $250; quarters: $125.
First or second-round buy-backs, Can only buy back once.

PRO -- 1/8-mile (Pro, Footbrake, No Box, No Electronics)
$50 entry fee, $30 buy-back
Win: $1,000; runner-up: $300; semi: $150; quarters: $75.
First-round buy-backs (time permitting).

DOT, STREET, SPORTSMAN – ¼-mile -- NHRA Div. 3 Gateway Sportsman rules
$40 entry fee, $20 buy-back
Win: $400; runner-up: $150; semi: $75; quarters: $40.

TROPHY CLASS (DOT STREET) – ¼-mile
$30 entry fee, $20 buy-back
Win: trophy; runner-up: trophy.

INDEX BATTLE (FULL-BODIED CARS AND TRUCKS ONLY, NO DRAGSTERS)
Open to all makes and models regardless of manufacture. One class: 6.0 Index.
.4 Pro Tree, 1/8-mile, pro ladder.
Two qualifying runs Saturday morning.
$80 entry fee -- 80% payback of entry fees ($64 to purse, $16 to track).
Win: 75% of total purse to win, trophy. Runner-up: 25% of total purse to runner-up, trophy.

ALL-RUN JR. DRAGSTER SHOOTOUT— one class
Win: $250; runner-up: $100; semi: $50.
$50 entry fee, $20 first-round buy-back.

Schedule and classes are subject to change. Decisions of event director are final. All vehicles and drivers must comply with NHRA guidelines.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7 -- NATIONAL DRAGSTER CHALLENGE
All Sunday National Dragster Challenge classes will follow Gateway Bracket ET breaks.

$100 entry fee, $50 buy-back.
Win: $2,500 and NHRA “Wally” trophy.
Runner-up: $500.
Semi: $250.
Quarters: $125.
Based on 48 cars in first round of eliminations. Purse will be pro-rata for less than 48 cars. First-round buy-backs time permitting.

PRO -- 1/8-mile
$60 entry fee, $30 buy-back
Win: $1,200 and NHRA “Wally” trophy
Runner-up: $400.
Semi: $200.
Quarters: $100.
Based on 48 cars in first round of eliminations. Purse will be pro-rata for less than 48 cars. First-round buy-backs time permitting.

SPORTSMAN – ¼-mile
$40 entry fee, $20 buy-back (first-round buy-backs)
Win: $350 and NHRA “Wally” trophy
Runner-up: $150
Semi: $75
Quarters: $55

PRO MOTORCYCLE – ¼-mile
$40 entry fee, $20 buy-back (first-round buy-backs)
Win: $150 and NHRA “Wally” trophy
Runner-up: $75
Semi: $40

JR. DRAGSTER -- 1/8-mile – two classes to be contested: Thunder and Lightning
$40 entry fee, $20 buy-back (first-round buy-backs).
Win: $200.
Runner-up: $100.

Decisions of the event director are final and non-appealable.

Rigs will not be allowed to enter the property after racer gates have closed.

Only occupants of vehicles with valid event credentials will be permitted to re-enter the property after racer gates have closed. If you do not have a valid event wristband you will not be able to enter the property for any reason. Please plan your arrival at the track accordingly.
