Prelude to the Gators at Gainesville Raceway

Gainesville, FL – Listen up Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series racers! The Prelude to the Gators at Gainesville Raceway is for you. It’s coming up Friday – Sunday, March 10-12, 2017, and includes Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Top Dragster, Top Sportsman (yeah, baby!), Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street and Jr. Dragsters Intermediate, Advanced and Novice classes. The total event purse is $57,620, plus contingency. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Top Alcohol Dragster (8-car field) pays $2,500 Win, $1,500 Runner-Up, $1,000 Semis and $750 Quarters.
  • Top Alcohol Funny Car (8-car field) pays $2,500 Win, $1,500 Runner-Up, $1,000 Semis and $750 Quarters.
  • Competition Eliminator (32-car field) pays $1,000 Win, $500 Runner-Up, $300 Semis, $250 Quarters and $200 Eighths.
  • Top Dragster (32-car field) pays $1,500 Win, $600 Runner-Up, $300 Semis and $200 Quarters.
  • Top Sportsman (32-car field) pays $1,500 Win, $600 Runner-Up, $300 Semis and $200 Quarters.
  • Super Stock (128-car field) pays $1,000 Win, $600 Runner-Up, $250 Semis, $200 Quarters, $125 Eighths and $100 Sixteenths.
  • Stock (128-car field) pays $1,000 Win, $500 Runner-Up, $250 Semis, $150 Quarters, $125 Eighths and $100 Sixteenths.
  • Super Comp (all-run) pays $1,000 Win, $500 Runner-Up, $200 Semis, $150 Quarters, $125 Eighths and $100 Sixteenths.
  • Super Gas (all-run) pays $1,000 Win, $500 Runner-Up, $200 Semis, $150 Quarters, $125 Eighths and $100 Sixteenths.
  • Super Street (all-run) pays $800 Win, $400 Runner-Up, $200 Semis, $150 Quarters, $125 Eighths and $100 Sixteenths.
  • Jr. Dragster Intermediate and Advanced each pay $500 Win, $150 Runner-Up, $80 Semis, $75 Quarters,

Entry fees for car & driver is $160; test & tune entry is $75. Wednesday March 8 is a test & tune from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Thursday March 9 is tech & registration from 10:00 am – 5:00pm a test & tune from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

Friday, March 10 is tech and registration starting at 8:00 and qualifying starting at 9:00 am. Saturday, March 11 is tech and registration starting at 8:30 am qualifying and eliminations starting at 9:00 am. Sunday March 12 continue eliminations at 10:00am. All schedules are subject to change, but you know that already, racers.
