Welcome to our photo mega-coverage of the 2017 NHRA Dodge Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway near Reading, PA. What a great event! The weather could not have been better and the track was packed with spectators. Even in some of the shots where the stands weren't full, it's only because the pits were! As a matter of fact, the event was sold out! Racers, this is great news for our sport. We need more sold-out events like The Dodge Nationals.

We were on location from Friday, September 22nd - Sunday, September 24th, 2017, and I have to say we got some great stuff! We arrived at 9:00 am on Friday and shot close to 2,500 photos. Classes include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas. It was a bear of a job just editing down to the 780 we're presenting here, plus then doing all of the layout here at the site. So here's all I'm asking: IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW ARE INCLUDED, PLEASE SHARE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, POST THE LINK IN RACING FORUMS, LET YOUR SPONSORS KNOW THAT YOU RECEIVED COVERAGE, VISIT OUR ADVERTISERS' SITES TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS THAT CAN HELP YOUR RACING PROGRAM, LET THEM KNOW YOU SAW THEIR ADS HERE, LET US KNOW THAT YOU APPRECIATE WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO TO SPOTLIGHT SPORTSMAN RACING.

Thank you for your support, racers!

Friday morning, 9:30 am and Frank Affronti has some thrash going on with his 2009 D/A GXP
Also up in the air is the E/DA of Frank Aragona. Maybe the name 'Frank' is bad luck.
Super Comp getting ready!
My Dodge is envious.

Division 1 bracket racer Andy Anderson's Nitro Fish Dart on display.
Super Stock, Round 1: Tom Sheehan survives a double-breakout to advance to Round 2.
Long Island racer James Perrone has converted his bracket Nova over to SS/GA and takes the win here on a competition single.

The 1987 GT/LA Olds Cutlass of Gregory Porter looks great

It looks even better taking a win here, albeit on a comp single. He still goes .006 on the 'Tree.
Now we have two cars, neither of which were particularly eager to leave the starting line. Alain Cauchon over there in the 2005 GT/LA Sunfire goes .054 to Bill Kennedy's .080 and hangs on for the win.

Lincoln Morehead over here and Marty Rinehart, Jr. over there.
Morehead's away first with an .017.
Here comes Rinehart with an .045. Each goes .01-over; Morehead moves on to Round 2.
Brian Oakes in the clean SS/BA Camaro.
